Marketing is understanding what you are offering and knowing how to introduce it to your potential customers.

Here are the main components that make up the marketer's function.

Know product
or
service
(inventory (goods, talent (services)
> Know potential customers
(be able to not only talk the talk, but walk it out)
> Know how to attract customers
(know how they think and by what means are they motivated)
> Know how to create means
(know how to create materials & methods to bridge sell & buy)
> Know where to place means
(know how to get materials & methods to right people & places)
> Know how to motivate
(know how to get sellers to sell and buyers to buy - create need to act)
> Know how to bridge to action
(know how to transition from presentation to sales process)

These steps are essential. And the true marketing professional will be able to seamlessly interface with the Business Development Professional and the Sales Professional.

The Marketeer is essential for knowing the product or service extremely well; and for knowing where & how to present the product or service to.  The Marketeer builds on the progress the Business Development Professional has made and paves the way for the Sales Professional.
